Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen surpassed the great Segun Odegbami as the highest-scoring player in Nigerian history.

Osimhen scored in the 11th minute of the Super Eagles’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda in Kigali.

Odegbami and Osimhen had 23 goals going into the game.

However, early in the game, Ademola Lookman crossed the ball with a free kick, and the Napoli loanee scored the next goal.  With 24 goals already, Osimhen leads Odegbami by one.  Rashidi Yekini, who has 37 goals for the Super Eagles, is now the only player behind the 26-year-old.
