Marcus Rashford, an Aston Villa forward, has been appointed to England boss Thomas Tuchel’s first team.

Rashford last represented England in a friendly against Brazil in March 2024, but he has impressed since joining Villa on loan from Manchester United in January.

Newcastle defender Dan Burn and Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly are set to make their debuts after receiving their first call-ups.

England’s qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup begins with a double-header at Wembley Stadium against Albania and Latvia on Friday, March 21 and Monday, March 24 (both at 19:45 GMT kickoffs).

Tuchel has also included an experienced player, Ajax midfielder Jordan Henderson, in the 26-man roster.

Henderson, 34, made his senior debut for the national side in 2010 under Fabio Capello, the last non-English manager, and last played against Malta in November 2023.

Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford and Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah hope to earn their first senior caps.

Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke returned from a two-month injury layoff on Sunday, playing the entire game in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
