Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle to sign Sporting winger Geovany Quenda.
After agreeing on a fee of over £40 million, the 17-year-old is poised to sign a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge with an option for one extra season.
Chelsea has many of alternatives on both flanks, but they believe Quenda, who will not join the club until 2026, is versatile enough to play on either side and capable of beating defenders one-on-one.
Since breaking into Sporting’s first squad, the Portugal Under-21 international has two goals and eight assists in 43 matches.
The kid was linked with a move to Manchester United to reunite with his old boss, Ruben Amorim.
