The Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, champions, Edo Queens, have declared Comfort Folorunsho Absent Without Official Leave, or AWOL.

Edo Queens announced the decision in a statement on Thursday. The Benin City club said Folorunsho packed her belongings and left without alerting management, despite having a contract with them.

Edo Queens advised other clubs not to use her services without their permission. The management declared their willingness to release her to any interested club in a timely and professional manner.

“The said player still has a running contract with Edo Queens FC, hence she has no right to leave without officially informing the club of her whereabouts,” Edo Queens stated.

This notice is to warn clubs not to engage her services without due clearance from Edo Queens FC.”
