The present ITTF Africa Cup in Tunis has seen the continent’s top table tennis players secure tickets to the 2025 ITTF World Cup.
The tournament has reached the semifinal round, and the victors have secured their places in the coveted worldwide event. Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna and Fatimo Bello have also qualified for the World Cup.
Aruna defeated Cote d’Ivoire’s Oba Oba Kizito 4-0, and Bello defeated Tunisia’s Ela Saidi 4-1. Aruna, the defending African Cup men’s singles champion, has been placed in Group 2 with Salifou Abdel-Kader of Benin Republic and Tunisia’s Sabhi Myshaal.
The five-time winner is one of the continent’s top table tennis players, vying for important regional titles and coveted tickets to the ITTF World Cup in Macao, China, in April.
The competition will be held at the El-Menzah Sports Hall in Tunis, the Tunisian capital. For the first time in the tournament’s history, ITTF-Africa will present individual awards, highlighting table tennis excellence and celebrating corporate partners.
