Chelsea head coach, Enzo Maresca has revealed his selection on the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
He stated that Filip Jorgensen will remain in the Blues’ starting lineup despite making an error in their previous loss.
Remember how the goalkeeper’s error contributed to Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday. Jorgensen made a costly blunder in the 89th minute, enabling Marco Asensio’s shot to pass under his body.
The former Leicester City manager spoke to the press ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League home game against Southampton on Tuesday.
When asked if Jorgensen would be replaced by Robert Sanchez. He responded, “If we need to change players every time there is a mistake, we need to change many players game by game.
“Nothing has changed. He is okay. He feels a little sad or upset because he recognised there was a mistake.”
Jorgensen signed the Blues from Villarreal for almost £20 million last summer and has started the last three league games.
Due to Sanchez’s inconsistent performances, he has emerged as his team’s starting goalkeeper.
