Kelechi Iheanacho, a Sevilla striker, has passed his medical at Middlesbrough.

The Super Eagles star is expected to join the Championship team on loan until the end of the season.

According to Sky Sports News, Middlesbrough will also have the option to buy him at the conclusion of the season. Last season, Iheanancho played for Leicester City in the Championship.

The 28-year-old was instrumental in the Foxes’ promotion back to the Premier League.

In his nine league appearances for Sevilla this season, he has yet to score or assist. Iheanancho will attempt to help Middlesbrough gain promotion to the Premier League this season.

Middlesbrough are presently eighth in the Championship table, having scored 44 points from 29 games.
