Nigeria’s Junior Female Yellow Greens finished their preparations for the 2025 ICC Women’s U-19 World Cup with a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Scotland on Wednesday at the Royal Selangor Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The stunning triumph sends a strong message to their World Cup opponents.
Nigeria’s bowlers delivered an impressive performance after winning the toss and deciding to play first. Led by Sarah Bhakita, they limited Scotland to 62 runs in 18.2 overs. Lillian Ude was the best bowler, collecting three wickets while Shola Adekunle had two.
Captain Lucky Piety, Kehinde Amusa, and Peace Usen all contributed one wicket. Captain Piety led the chase with a quickfire 28 not out from 16 balls, including three sixes.
Victory Igbinedion, fresh off a great effort against Pakistan two days earlier, also added 25 runs to Nigeria’s comfortable victory.
