Manchester City has announced the passing of former captain Tony Book, who died at the age of 90.

Cyber Reporters understands that Book had a storied career with City, leading the team to numerous victories.

During his time as captain, Book helped City win the English top-flight title and European Cup Winners’ Cup in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

His leadership and dedication to the team were instrumental in their success.

Book’s impact on Manchester City did not end with his playing career as he went on to manage the team, guiding them to League Cup success in 1976.

His contributions to the club were recognized with his appointment as honorary president and life president of the official supporters club.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak paid tribute to Book, saying, “For nearly sixty years, Tony helped shape Manchester City… His humility regarding his achievements was incredible.”

Al Mubarak praised Book’s devotion to the club, which remained strong until the end.

Book’s passing is a significant loss for Manchester City, and he will be deeply missed by the club and its fans.
