The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, officially unveiled Eric Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles on Monday.
Cyber Reporters reports that the ceremony took place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Chelle, a former Mali international, was confirmed as the 42nd substantive head coach of the Super Eagles last week.
The 47-year-old has a daunting task ahead, as he is expected to revive Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying hopes.
The Super Eagles have struggled in the qualifiers, failing to record a win and sitting in fifth position in Group C with just three points from four games.
Chelle will also lead the home-based Super Eagles at the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN.
Despite his appointment, Chelle’s selection was met with criticism and resistance from Nigerian football fans and pundits.
