Eric Chelle, the newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, will make his debut at the 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN.

Cyber Reporters reports that the Malian coach was appointed on Tuesday and is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Sunday to finalize his contract.

Chelle’s first major assignment will be leading the Super Eagles at CHAN 2024, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

This will be a significant test for the new coach, who will be looking to make a positive impact on the team.

Nigeria qualified for the tournament after defeating Ghana 3-1 on aggregate last month, marking their return to the competition after a six-year absence.

The team will be looking to make a strong showing at the tournament, and Chelle will be under pressure to deliver.

According to Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, president Ibrahim Gusau, Chelle will also oversee the CHAN Eagles, as part of the NFF’s policy to integrate domestic league players into the Super Eagles.

The draw for CHAN 2024 is scheduled to take place next Wednesday at the International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
