The Confederation of African Football, CAF has announced an increase in prize money for the 2024 African Championship (CHAN).
The winner of the 2024 edition of the game, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, will receive $3.5 million.
Senegal’s prize money has increased by 75% from two years ago in Algeria. CAF also announced that the competition’s overall prize money has been raised to $10.4 million, a 32% increase.
17 countries have previously qualified for this biennial competition. The CHAN 2024 draw ceremony will be held on Wednesday, January 15, at the International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
The competition will begin on Saturday, February 1, 2025, and the final will be held on Friday, February 28.
