Former Chelsea player, Joe Cole has predicted a 2-1 victory for Liverpool in their highly anticipated Premier League showdown against Manchester United.

Cole acknowledges the unpredictable nature of derby matches but believes Liverpool’s current form makes them the likely winners.

According to Cole, he expects Manchester United to put up a fight and be competitive throughout the match, potentially scoring once through a counter-attack.

However, he believes the Red Devils will struggle to maintain their offense under the pressure of Liverpool’s home crowd at Anfield.

“Manchester United will turn up, make a game of it, but Liverpool will win 2-1,” Cole said.

Cole also encouraged Manchester United fans to be patient and supportive as the club undergoes a rebuilding phase.

The two teams last met in a match that ended 3-0 in favor of Liverpool at Old Trafford.

This recent history may weigh on Manchester United as they prepare to face their rivals again on Sunday, January 5.

Cole’s prediction is based on Liverpool’s current form and their strong home advantage at Anfield.
