Tyson Fury is determined to deliver a powerful performance in his highly anticipated rematch against Oleksandr Usyk this Saturday.

Fury is seeking revenge after narrowly losing to Usyk in May, with the Ukrainian winning by a split decision to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.

Fury has intentionally added weight to increase the power behind his punches. “When a 20th man hits you on the jaw, compared to a man at 17th, it’s a bit different,” Fury said in an interview.

Usyk, however, remains calm and unfazed by Fury’s intimidation tactics. “I know things will be different this time. For me, I’m training like I’m preparing to face a walking fortress,” Usyk said.

Usyk acknowledged that he has undertaken a rigorous training regimen to prepare for the challenge.

Despite the changes, Fury welcomes the challenge, expressing a desire to face the best version of Usyk. “I want him to be the best he’s ever been. I hope I get the best version,” Fury declared.

The rematch, which will take place as part of the Riyadh Season event, will see Usyk’s WBO, WBA, and WBC titles at stake.

The bout will be available to view on Sky Sports Box Office, with the action commencing at 11 p.m. UK time on December 21.

Fury is confident that his experience in rematches will give him an edge.

“It’s always round 13 in a rematch, I suppose. I’ve had plenty of them. Round 13 for sure. And I was coming on strong in the last round too. So it should be a good round for me the first one.”
