Home-based Super Eagles coach, Daniel Ogunmodede is confident that his team will be motivated by the rivalry with Ghana as they prepare for their 2024 African Nations Championship qualifier.

The two-legged matchup against Ghana is a chance for the Super Eagles to seek redemption after being prevented from qualifying for the previous edition by the Black Galaxies.

Ogunmodede expressed confidence in his players’ determination to secure a victory against Ghana.

He emphasized the importance of managing pressure and expectations, maintaining focus on their game strategy, and fostering confidence among the players.

The coach views the rivalry with Ghana as a source of motivation rather than anxiety.

Ogunmodede believes that achieving qualification for the tournament would be a significant milestone, providing an opportunity to showcase local talent, elevate the profile of the domestic league, and inspire the next generation of footballers.

The first leg of the qualifier is scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, at 4 p.m.

The Super Eagles are eager to start their campaign on a positive note and secure a crucial away result.

Ogunmodede’s team has been preparing intensively for the matchup, and the coach is optimistic about their chances.
