President Bola Tinubu has demanded an investigation over the unfortunate occurrence at a children’s funfair in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Tinubu expressed his condolences to the government and people of Oyo State, as well as the mourning families who lost their children in the tragic incident.

Recall that 32 children perished in a stampede at an Ibadan funfair on Wednesday, with reports on Thursday putting the number at 35.

On Thursday, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), stated.

It was titled, “Tinubu Expresses Deep Anguish Over Ibadan FunFair Tragedy, Demands Thorough Investigation.”

“This is a deeply painful moment for the entire nation,” Tinubu said. I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the families enduring this unimaginable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as we mourn this tragic occurrence together.”

Determined to prevent similar tragedies, the president has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the incident.

“We must uncover the truth behind this tragedy.

“It is imperative to determine whether negligence or deliberate actions were involved, ensuring a transparent and accountable process,” the president stated.

He stressed the importance of holding those responsible accountable should any negligence be uncovered.
