The Kano State House of Assembly has on Tuesday confirmed seven nominations for the state executive council recommended by Governor Abba Yusuf.
The confirmation came after three and a half hours of thorough scrutiny of the nominees and their unanimous acceptance as Commissioners-designate.
While announcing the confirmation in plenary, Speaker Jibril Falgore stated that it was based on a resolution passed by MPs at the ad hoc committee.
Recall that on Monday, Falgore read the executive bill that included six nominees for consideration and potential approval as state commissioners.
The Speaker also announced the addition of Nura Iro Ma’aji to the original list of nominees. Those verified at the end of the day were Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), who was dismissed due to health concerns, and former Chief of Staff Shehu Wada Sagaji, who was relieved of his duties last Thursday.
Other commissioners designated include Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, Gaddafi Sani Shehu, Ibrahim Wayya, Dr. Dahiru Hashim Muhammad, and Dr. Ismail Aliyu Dannaraya.
“I’ll forever remain appreciative to the will of the Almighty Allah in my entire life,” an overjoyous Waiya emphasised.
Like Waiya, Shehu Sagagi said, “The will of the Almighty Allah has prevailed following his successful screening and subsequent confirmation as a Kano State Commissioner.”
