The Football Association has charged Matheus Cunha with misconduct after Wolves’ 2-1 loss to Ipswich on Saturday.

The striker from Brazil, who gave Wolves the equalizer at Molineux, “allegedly acted in an improper manner” as the two teams clashed at the final whistle.

On post-match video, Cunha seemed to have elbowed an Ipswich security team member in the back of the head before removing the man’s glasses.

The 25-year-old’s response to the charge is due on December 19.

Following the loss, Wolves’ eleventh in the Premier League this year, manager Gary O’Neil and his backroom crew were fired by the club.

Despite having eight goals in 16 Premier League games this season, Cunha may be suspended for his involvement in the incident.

Ipswich won thanks to a last-minute header from Jack Taylor, and Cunha’s teammate Rayan Ait-Nouri was sent off in the tunnel for a second yellow card at the end of the game.

At 14:00 GMT on Sunday, Wolves will play Leicester City, who are currently in 17th position in the Premier League, five points below them.
