In a bold declaration, Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has told those eyeing the presidency in 2027 to abandon their ambitions.

Igbokwe in a recent Facebook post stated that President Bola Tinubu will still be occupying Aso Rock after 2027, leaving no room for a new president.

The APC chieftain believes Tinubu has a massive task ahead of him, clearing the “huge and monumental Augean Stable” that has accumulated over the years.

Igbokwe said he is confident that Tinubu is the right person for the job and that Nigeria is being reworked to function properly again.

His statement comes amid rumors that Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP, presidential candidate in the last election, and Peter Obi, his Labour Party counterpart, are forming an alliance to unseat Tinubu in 2027.

Igbokwe’s message is clear urged those nursing presidential ambitions in 2027 to “go and rest” as there is no vacancy in Aso Rock.

The development has sparked interest in the political landscape, with many waiting to see how events will unfold in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
