Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has emphasized the importance of defeating top-tier teams if the Gunners hope to win major trophies.
Speaking ahead of their highly anticipated Premier League clash against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta acknowledged that his team must be prepared to face and overcome stiff competition.
The two teams will also meet again in the FA Cup third round in January, setting the stage for another thrilling encounter.
Arteta noted that this is not an unusual occurrence, as Arsenal has often found themselves facing formidable opponents in the early rounds of the FA Cup.
However, the Spanish manager remains undaunted, stressing that success in major competitions requires victories over top teams.
“You have to beat the big teams to win it,” Arteta declared, highlighting the importance of rising to the challenge against tough opponents like Manchester United.
Manchester United, the current FA Cup holders, will undoubtedly provide a stern test for Arsenal.
The Red Devils claimed the title in June by defeating Manchester City 2-1, and they will be eager to defend their crown.
