The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has arrested Brazilian-based Nigerian businessman, Ezeokoli Sylva at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for attempting to smuggle 700 grams of cocaine into Nigeria.
Cyber Reporters reports the cocaine was cleverly concealed in his stomach.
According to the NDLEA, Ezeokoli was arrested on Friday, November 29, 2024, upon his return from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
A body scan revealed the presence of foreign objects in his stomach, leading to his placement under excretion observation.
During the observation, Ezeokoli expelled 29 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine, weighing a total of 700 grams.
In his statement, the 59-year-old suspect claimed he operates an African store in Brazil and bought the cocaine to resell in Nigeria and raise capital for his business.
The NDLEA’s swift action has prevented a significant quantity of cocaine from entering the Nigerian market.
The agency’s vigilance is a testament to their commitment to combating drug trafficking in the country.
