The Super Falcons of Nigeria fell to a 2-1 defeat against Les Bleues of France in an international friendly match held at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers on Saturday night.

Cyber Reporters reports that this loss marks the fourth consecutive defeat for the Super Falcons against the French side in their last four meetings.

France dominated the early stages of the match, with Marie-Antoinette Katoto’s goal being disallowed due to offside just seven minutes into the game.

However, the French team eventually broke the deadlock in the 27th minute, courtesy of Eugenie Claudine Le Sommer’s skillful finish.

Les Bleues doubled their lead eight minutes later, with Amel Majri scoring a powerful shot past Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.

The Super Falcons responded just before halftime, with Ifeoma Onumonu producing a moment of brilliance with a superb chip over the goalkeeper, narrowing the deficit to 2-1.

Despite a strong start to the second half, neither team was able to find the back of the net again, and the match ended with France maintaining their 2-1 lead.

The Super Falcons’ defeat marks a continuation of their struggles against the French side, who have now won four consecutive matches against them.
