All magistrates in Cross River State have declared a three-day warning strike, beginning November 27, 2024.

This comes as organized Labour ends its two-day warning strike. The Organised Labour has asked that Governor Bassey Otu’s government pay them the national minimum salary of N70,000 without further delay.

The chairman and secretary of the Magistrates Association of Nigeria (MAN), His Worship Godwin Onah and His Worship Solomon Abuo, stated in a statement that all magistrates have gone on strike.

The statement reads, “In line with our congress resolution to proceed on a 3-day warning strike, this has become effective from 6 am of today 27 November 2024 till Friday 29th November 2024.

“Failure of the state government to meet our eight-point demands, an indefinite strike shall be embarked upon until all our demands are fully met.”

All courts in all parts of the state have been under lock and key since morning, as confirmed by Daily Post Correspondent.
The statement directed all magistrates across the state to guarantee efficient compliance by all court workers.

They attempted the same warning strike earlier this month but called it off.

MAN had issued a letter to the state governor informing them that they had moved their strike date to November 22, 2024, in the hopes that the administration would meet their demands, but they had failed.
