Barcelona sensation, Lamine Yamal has been crowned the 2024 Golden Boy award winner, capping off an incredible breakout year with the club and Spain.
Cyber Reporters reports that at just 17 years old, Yamal has made history as the youngest-ever recipient of the prestigious award.
This achievement marks the third time in four years that a Barcelona player has claimed the Golden Boy award, following in the footsteps of teammates Pedri and Gavi.
Yamal edged out an impressive field of nominees, including Joao Neves, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Warren Zaire-Emery, to claim the coveted honor.
Yamal’s remarkable year has been filled with accolades. In October, he became the youngest player to receive the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, recognizing him as one of the top under-21 talents in men’s football.
The talented youngster played a crucial role in Spain’s triumph at the European Championship last summer.
He was awarded the Young Player of the Tournament award and was named to the Team of the Tournament.
Yamal’s sensational semifinal goal against France was voted the Goal of the Tournament, showcasing his exceptional skill and talent on the field.
