President Bola Tinubu has given his stamp of approval for the appointment of 11 directors who aced the written interview for the permanent secretaries’ qualifying examination.

Cyber Reporters gathered that these individuals have been selected to move on to the final stage of the process.

This development was confirmed through a memo from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

The Federal Government initiated the process of appointing new permanent secretaries back in October to fill vacancies in eight states.

A memo signed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, on October 7, 2024, highlighted that officials currently undergoing disciplinary procedures were barred from applying for these positions.

“The under-listed eleven (11) candidates are invited to the oral interview stage of the process for the appointment of Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service, following their successful performance in Stages I and Il of the exercise,” the latest memo signed by Dr Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the exam committee said.

Out of the 38 directors who participated in the initial stage, 19 made the cut and progressed to the next round. Of these 19, 11 successfully passed the second stage and have now advanced to the third stage.

The selected individuals will undergo further evaluation before the final appointments are made.

President Tinubu is expected to announce the new permanent secretaries once the recruitment process is complete.
