Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, due to a misrepresentation of facts on his personal “X” account regarding a past incident.
Cyber Reporters reports that this decision was communicated through a statement signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
The statement emphasized that the administration “frowns at any form of extra judicial punishment and will not be a part of any such action.”
It’s worth noting that Ajetunmobi has been a key member of Sanwo-Olu’s team, having served as his Special Assistant on Media (Print) during his first tenure.
He was reappointed to the position of Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Press (Print Media) alongside Jubril Gawat, who was reappointed as the Senior Special Assistant on New Media.
Ajetunmobi’s comments on his personal “X” account had sparked controversy, with many criticizing his handling of the past incident.
The Governor’s swift action in suspending him demonstrates a commitment to upholding the values of transparency and accountability within his administration.
As the investigation into Ajetunmobi’s actions continues, the Governor’s office remains focused on maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
