Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, the club announced on Monday.

The Brazilian forward will miss the upcoming Champions League match against Liverpool, as well as other key games.

Cyber Reporters gathered that Vinicius is expected to be out for almost a month, which would also rule him out of the Champions League match against Atalanta on December 10.

He will also miss Wednesday’s match at Anfield.

Vinicius played the full 90 minutes in Madrid’s 3-0 win over Leganes in La Liga on Sunday, assisting Kylian Mbappe’s opening goal.

The 24-year-old has been in superb form this season, outshining Mbappe and scoring four Champions League goals in four appearances.

Vinicius, who finished second in the Ballon d’Or voting, has also scored eight La Liga goals in 13 games.

His absence will be a significant blow to Real Madrid, who have started their Champions League campaign in shaky form.

The Champions League holders have lost two of their opening four matches, including a 1-0 defeat at Lille and a 3-1 loss at home to AC Milan. They currently sit 18th in the expanded group table.

In contrast, Liverpool lead both the Champions League table and the Premier League under new coach Arne Slot.

The Reds will host Real Madrid on Wednesday in a highly anticipated match.

Vinicius’s injury is a significant setback for Real Madrid, who will be looking to bounce back from their recent Champions League defeats.
