A devastating series of attacks occurred in Kastina-Ala and Logo Local Government Areas of Benue State, resulting in at least 30 fatalities on Sunday and Monday.

Cyber Reporters gathered that armed individuals, estimated to be over 300, carried out the assaults. The attackers were believed to be militia from outside Nigeria, and they were reportedly well-armed and well-coordinated.

Chief Joseph Anawah, a community leader in Logo, stated that the attackers invaded the Azege settlement and surrounding areas at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The attack caught the local residents off guard, and many were unable to flee or defend themselves.

The security forces present in the area were initially unable to fend off the attackers due to their superior numbers and weaponry.

However, the attackers retreated after a military aircraft arrived, providing air support to the security forces.

The Council Chairman of Kastina-Ala LGA, Justine Shaku, also reported that several individuals were killed, and significant property was destroyed in his jurisdiction.

The attacks have left many residents in a state of shock and fear, and there are concerns about the ongoing security situation in the area.

According to Anawah, more than 20 bodies have been discovered, and efforts to locate additional missing persons are ongoing.

The attacks have also left many residents without access to basic necessities, and there are concerns about the humanitarian situation in the affected areas.

Cyber Reporters reports that the attacks in Benue State are the latest in a series of violent incidents to affect the region.

The Nigerian government has promised to take action to address the security situation, but many residents are skeptical about the government’s ability to protect them.
