President Bola Tinubu has re-designated the positions of two newly appointed officials on the State House media and communications team after David Bwala’s appointment, to improve efficiency within the government’s communication machinery.

Bayo Onanuga, the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, issued a statement confirming this.

Onanuga stated that due to the restructuring, Sunday Dare, who was previously the Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, is now the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.

Onanuga stated that David Bwala, who was appointed Special Adviser, Media, and Public Communication last week, is now Special Adviser to Policy Communication.

The statement reads: “These appointments, along with the existing role of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency.

“Instead, all the three Special Advisers will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government.

“This approach aims to ensure effective and consistent communication of government policies, decisions, and engagements.”
