Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate, has praised Nigerian beauty queen Chidinma Adetshina for her impressive performance at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant.

Cyber Reporters reports that Adetshina made history by emerging as the first runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe Competition held in Mexico, securing the top spot in Africa.

Obi commended Adetshina’s journey, describing it as a testament to resilience, perseverance, and dedication.

He noted that despite facing numerous challenges, she remained committed to her goals and has now made a name for herself on the international stage through hard work.

“Her success is a giant stride that we can all be proud of,” Obi said. “She may not have won the crown, but competing against over 120 contestants worldwide and securing the first runner-up position is an incredible achievement.”

Obi also highlighted Adetshina’s symbolic significance, particularly for Nigeria’s youth. “In these challenging times, she stands as a symbol of hope, reminding us that success lies ahead, no matter the obstacles,” he emphasized.

Adetshina’s achievement is indeed a remarkable one, especially considering her journey.

She had initially faced xenophobic backlash in South Africa but went on to claim the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 title.

Her determination and resilience serve as an inspiration to many, and Obi’s recognition of her efforts is a well-deserved tribute.
