The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun the accreditation of centers for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement signed by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the organization emphasized the necessity of centers satisfying the UTME regulations.

“The accreditation process is an important initial step in preparing for the annual assessment. Only centers that meet the relevant standards will be eligible to participate.”

The examination body outlined the procedure for new CBT centers that wish to participate in the accreditation process, stating: “All new Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers who wish to participate in the 2025 UTME exercise must first meet the requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved CBT center.”

It said that the centers must then formally notify the board of their intention to participate by sending a letter to the registrar via the zonal directors or state coordinators in their respective states.
JAMB advised centers authorized during the 2024 UTME who had no operational concerns to register their interest through the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal.

JAMB also emphasized the importance of Autobot/Autotest, a technological evaluation designed to evaluate the performance of the centers.

“The Zonal and State Offices will create accounts for new centers on the CMS Portal to facilitate their registration. All centers must conduct an Autobot/Autotest on a date that will be communicated to them, as part of their preparation for the physical accreditation visit by the Board’s team.”

According to the board, “It is essential to note that the Autobot/Autotest is mandatory; only centers that complete this test and meet the necessary criteria will be eligible for a physical visit.”

It further stated that only qualifying centers will be notified of the date of the physical accreditation exercise, which is slated for December.
