Edo Queens, Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Women’s Champions League, have secured a semifinal spot and a whopping ₦500 million after defeating South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 on Saturday.

As champions of the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, Edo Queens have consistently demonstrated their excellence.

Cyber Reporters reports that Edo Queens topped Group B with an impressive seven points from three matches, outperforming Egyptian side FC Masar.

Under the leadership of Coach Moses Aduku, Edo Queens are poised to face TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo in the semifinals.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, President, Gusau, has praised Edo Queens’ resilience and ambition.

In a statement, he commended the team’s fighting spirit and determination, expressing confidence that their recent victory will motivate them to go further.

Gusau also congratulated the Edo State Government and the team’s supporters, acknowledging their crucial role in Edo Queens’ success.

Edo Queens’ impressive run is not surprising, given their triumph in the WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifying tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

The semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, with Edo Queens facing TP Mazembe at 4:00 PM Morocco time.
