Thierry Henry, a French football legend, has tipped Barcelona to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
Henry, who played for both Barcelona and Arsenal, praised the Catalan giants’ resurgence under manager Hansi Flick.
Cyber Reporters reports that Barcelona has been impressive in the Champions League, bouncing back from their opening loss to AS Monaco.
They have secured convincing wins over Young Boys (5-0), Bayern Munich (4-1), and Crvena zvezda (2-5).
Henry shared his thoughts on Barcelona’s chances in an interview with CBS Sports saying: “I think this team right now has to be considered as one of the favorites to win it.”
Henry believes Barcelona’s past disappointments could work in their favor. “Sometimes, you need to lose a semi-final, lose a quarter-final, to know how hard it is to go out,” he explained.
As a former Barcelona player, Henry knows what it takes to win the Champions League. He was part of the team that lifted the trophy in the 2008-09 season.
With their strong squad and Hansi Flick’s guidance, Henry thinks Barcelona has the potential to go all the way. “I do think that they are equipped to go all the way now,” he said.
