England-born defender, Gabriel Osho has reaffirmed his commitment to representing Nigeria as he prepares for his potential Super Eagles debut.

The 26-year-old Auxerre player was named in the 23-man squad for crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Osho was among the first players to arrive at the national team camp, showcasing his enthusiasm and readiness.

Cyber Reporters gathered that Osho’s journey to this point has been marked by challenges, including an injury that forced him to withdraw from an earlier squad under coach Finidi George.

Now, Osho faces stiff competition for a starting spot from established players like Calvin Bassey and William Troost-Ekong, as well as newcomer Victor Collins.

Reflecting on his journey, Osho expressed gratitude for the opportunity, promising to put in his utmost effort.

“I’ve been invited before, but circumstances prevented me. This time, everything aligned perfectly,” Osho said. “I’ll work hard and give everything for this shirt. The fans expect nothing less.”

He acknowledged the wealth of talent within the Nigerian squad, calling it a “tremendous honour” to be part.

The Super Eagles, currently topping Group D with 10 points, face Benin Republic on Thursday at 8 p.m. in Abidjan and Rwanda four days later in Uyo.

A single point from either match will secure their spot in the AFCON tournament in Morocco next year.

Osho’s potential debut marks a significant milestone in his career and with dedication and hard work, he aims to cement his place in the Nigerian national team.
