Monday Okpebholo has officially taken the reins as the governor of Edo State, bringing an end to Godwin Obaseki’s eight-year tenure.

Cyber Reporters reports that the inauguration ceremony unfolded at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the state capital, on Tuesday.

This milestone comes two months after Okpebholo’s All Progressives Congress, APC, secured the ticket to the Dennis Osadebay House.

Okpebholo was sworn in alongside his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Edo State’s governance.

As the newly elected governor, Okpebholo brings a wealth of experience to the table, having previously served as a senator in the 10th National Assembly.

Okpebholo campaign focused on economic reform, foreign investment, and infrastructure development, aiming to bring stability and growth to Edo.

Before his governorship, Okpebholo contested for the Senate Seat in Edo Central senatorial district under the APC and emerged victorious on February 25, 2023.

As governor, Okpebholo will likely draw from his diverse portfolio, which encompasses ventures in hospitality, construction, oil and gas, and agriculture.

As the state embarks on this new journey, all eyes are on Okpebholo’s administration to deliver on its promises.
