The Governor-Elect of Edo State Senator Monday Okpebholo has appointed Fred Itua as the incoming administration’s Chief Press Secretary, Cyber Reporters report.

Itua’s appointment, announced by the governor-elect’s media team in Abuja on Monday, is Okpebholo’s first before his inauguration and the actual turnover of power by the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki, which is set for Tuesday.

Itua, who has previously worked for Leadership and The Sun newspapers, will manage the Governor’s communications staff.

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, a Master’s degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja, and is currently completing his PhD thesis in Development Communication at Veritas University in Abuja.

Fred Itua has considerable experience covering the National Assembly, migration issues, health, anti-corruption, and environmental concerns, providing valuable insight into national and international politics.

His dedication to lifelong learning and cross-cultural collaboration qualifies him as a highly adaptive team member, eager to lead and develop in multicultural environments.
