Tems, Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and other well-known Nigerian musicians have received nominations for the new Best African Music Performance category at the upcoming prestigious Grammy Awards.

With the release of the 2025 Grammy nominations, a stellar roster of performers, albums, and songs will vie for recognition at the 67th annual ceremony.

The event, which is set for February 2 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, will honor records that were published between September 16, 2023, and August 30, 2024.

Beyoncé leads this year’s nominees with eleven, and her genre-bending album Cowboy Carter is up for pop, rap, country, and Americana categories in addition to big categories like Record, Song, and Album of the Year.

With three nominations, Tems leads the Nigerian field.

Rema and Tems were nominated in the Best Global Music Album category.

According to officials, the Recording Academy has redesigned a number of prize categories in an event that saw significant revisions in order to “enhance the integrity and inclusivity of the GRAMMY Awards.”

Presenters including Victoria Monet, Kylie Minogue, Gayle King, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Hayley Williams revealed the nominations.
