Former England striker, Teddy Sheringham believes Cristiano Ronaldo would receive a warm welcome at Manchester United, but doubts the Portuguese star will return to the club.

Ronaldo, 39, has had two storied stints at Old Trafford, winning numerous honors, including the Premier League, Champions League, and Ballon d’Or.

However, Ronaldo’s second spell ended acrimoniously, with his contract terminated following an explosive interview.

Now playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo’s future plans are uncertain.

Sheringham says he expects Ronaldo to follow in David Beckham’s footsteps, pursuing high-profile ventures beyond coaching.

Sheringham said: “Cristiano would be very welcome back at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, but he’s onto bigger things.

“I think he’ll explore global opportunities, similar to Beckham. While he’d be welcomed in any capacity, I doubt he’ll become a coach.”

Sheringham’s comments highlight Ronaldo’s enduring legacy at Manchester United, but also acknowledge the player’s ambitions extend far beyond the pitch.
