Music Mogul, Diddy’s legal team has requested a gag order to limit the public statements made by potential witnesses and their attorneys outside of court, Cyber Reporter reports.

The motion, filed on Sunday, addresses concerns about witness Courtney Burgess, who recently spoke to the media about his testimony.

Diddy’s attorneys are requesting the judge to expedite the application, citing various interviews in which Burgess claims to have incriminating videos of Diddy and other celebrities. Diddy’s crew has aggressively refuted the charges, calling them untrue and defamatory.

Burgess and his attorney, Ariel Mitchell, spoke with TMZ about the nature of his testimony, asserting that he was summoned to testify because he was aware of these allegedly damaging tapes. Attorneys for Diddy contend that these allegations ought to be viewed as an “extortion scam,” and that the government’s inaction is escalating online conspiracy theories and endangering Diddy’s right to a fair trial.

Diddy has been the subject of an investigation for about a year due to significant charges that include transportation to engage in prostitution, fraud or coercion, sex trafficking by force, and racketeering conspiracy. In response to stories from some media sites that have misrepresented the situation, his legal team argues that the so-called “Freak Offs” charges do not involve men, adolescents, or parties.

Civil plaintiffs are still bringing cases against Diddy, who is now being held at MDC Brooklyn for trial. The case’s circumstances are further complicated by the fact that the legal struggle is taking place in the face of intense public and media scrutiny.
