The Nigerian Senate is set to review the ministerial nominees forwarded to it by President Bola Tinubu last week, Cyber Reporters report.

Recall that on October 24, Tinubu wrote to the upper house of parliament to request that seven ministry nominees be screened and then confirmed.

During Thursday’s plenary, the request—which was in a letter to Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President—was read.

Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labor and Employment; Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, Minister of State, Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, are among the ministerial nominees.

The others are Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing; Idi Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development; Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad, Minister of State, Education; and Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development.

Reports state that the Department of State Services, or DSS, has approved the nominations.

On Monday, some of the nominees were seen submitting their curriculum vitae at Senator Basheer Lado’s office, which serves as the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters.
