At least 40 people are trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building in Abuja’s Sabon Lugbe area.

Cyber Reporters gathered that the incident occurred early Saturday morning, prompting urgent rescue efforts by emergency teams and local residents.

It was gathered that the building was still under construction when it collapsed.

A witness on the scene pleaded for government agencies and rescue organizations to assist, emphasizing that many people remain trapped beneath the debris.

According to the witness: “No fewer than 40 persons are currently trapped in a building collapse that occurred in the Sabon Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. People are under this rubble. It is a building under construction.

“We are calling on the government and relevant agencies to come and rescue those who are trapped here,” a witness at the site told Vanguard, emphasizing the critical need for more support to aid the ongoing recovery efforts.

This devastating incident follows another recent building collapse in Abuja’s Kubwa area, where four people were rescued.

Concerned residents are working alongside emergency teams to search for survivors.
