The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has announced a venue change for the first leg of the international friendly between the Super Falcons and Algeria’s women’s national team.

The match, originally scheduled for the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, will now take place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday, October 26th.

The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s women’s national team, began preparations for the friendlies on Tuesday.

Coach Randy Waldrum’s team is gearing up for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the friendlies against Algeria are crucial for their preparations.

The Remo Stars Stadium, located in Ikenne, Ogun State, has hosted several high-profile football matches, including Nigeria’s national team games.

The stadium’s capacity and facilities are expected to provide a conducive environment for the Super Falcons to take on their Algerian counterparts.

The Algeria friendlies are part of the Super Falcons’ preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will serve as qualifiers for the 2025 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

According to NFF, the second friendly against Algeria will still be held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, next week Tuesday at 4 pm local time.

The NFF has urged fans to come out and support the Super Falcons in both matches.

The Super Falcons have a rich history in women’s football, having won 11 African Women’s Championships titles.

The team is determined to maintain its dominance on the continent and make a strong impact at the 2025 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
