Former Chelsea midfielder, Florent Malouda has urged the Premier League club to revive their interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen during the January transfer window.

Cyber Reporters reports that Chelsea attempted to secure Osimhen’s services in the summer but negotiations fell through due to financial demands.

Despite the setback, Malouda remains optimistic about Osimhen joining Chelsea.

Malouda said he believes the 25-year-old Napoli loanee possesses the skill set to elevate the team’s performance and bolster their attacking options.

Osimhen currently plays for Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray on loan.

Malouda who came up with this in an interview emphasized his quality and potential impact.

He noted that the transfer fee might be lower than initially projected, around £70 million, adding that this could make the deal more manageable for Chelsea.

He said: “We nearly finalized the deal for Victor Osimhen in the last transfer window, and he is precisely the kind of player who could bring an added layer of quality to this Chelsea squad. If there’s an opportunity to bring him on board in January, I believe the club should seriously consider it.

“From various reports I’ve seen, it appears that the transfer fee may be more manageable than initially projected last summer, with estimates around £70 million.”

Malouda’s endorsement underscores Osimhen’s potential to make a significant impact at Stamford Bridge.
