British broadcaster, Piers Morgan has ignited a heated debate in the football world, boldly asserting that Lionel Messi is not the greatest Argentinian player of all time.

Morgan’s statement came in response to a Marca poll that crowned Messi the greatest player of all time.

The poll placed Messi, now playing for Inter Miami in MLS, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and the late Brazilian legend, Pele.

However, Morgan disagreed, quote-retweeting the results and stating, “Messi’s not even the greatest Argentinian player of all time.”

Morgan’s assertion raises eyebrows, considering Messi’s unprecedented achievements, including a record eight Ballon d’Or wins. Cristiano Ronaldo trails behind with five.

The claim has sparked intense discussion among football fans, with many defending Messi’s status as one of the all-time greats.
