A two-story structure fell on Amusu Street in Lagos’ Orile Iganmu neighborhood.

The incident took place in the early hours of Monday.

As shown in a viral video, the building crashed in as neighboring inhabitants fled for safety.

Mr. Nosa Okunbor, Head of LASEMA’s Public Affairs Unit, stated that there were no casualties in the building fall, according to NAN.

According to a statement from LASEMA, the structure collapsed on its own about 8.45 a.m.

“LASEMA Response Teams in Search and Rescue Operation is at a self-collapsed building on Amusu Street, Baale Bus Stop, Orile Iganmu.“No casualties and updates to follow,” he said

Earlier, an official from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the occurrence anonymously and stated that no casualties were reported.

The official said that the building had been evacuated before the fall.

“I can confirm that the incident occurred this morning, but there were no casualties. An evacuation had already occurred before to the collapse.”

The LASEMA source further indicated that emergency responders were already on the scene of the event.

Family members residing in the boys’ quarters behind a storey building at No 49 Oyinlola Street, Off Adealu Bus Stop, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State, narrowly avoided death when the quarters caved in.
