A young man identified as Daniel has been apprehended by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly stabbing a sex worker in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.
According to sources, the incident occurred on Friday night at Apple Inn, a brothel along the Benin/Asaba Expressway.
The suspect, a regular customer, reportedly refused to pay the agreed fee, claiming the sex worker denied him ejaculation during their encounter.
It was gathered that an altercation ensued, and the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife, possibly obtained from the sex worker’s kitchen.
Witnesses reported that the suspect dragged the knife downward, inflicting severe injuries.
Police officers from the Agbor Division responded to a distress call and arrested the suspect, who was nearly lynched by an angry mob.
The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
A senior police officer confirmed the arrest, stating that the victim was found in a pool of blood upon their arrival.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, acknowledged the incident, saying, “I’ve contacted the Agbor DPO, who promised to provide more information.”
An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
