Libyan fans are outraged over the alleged poor treatment of their national team, the Mediterranean Knights, upon arrival in Nigeria for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against the Super Eagles.

Mediterranean Knights captain Faisal Al-Badri revealed in an interview that Nigerian officials frustrated the team’s travel experience.

Al-Badri’s allegations suggest that the Nigerian hosts failed to provide a smooth and welcoming environment for the Libyan team leading to accusations of disrespect and unprofessionalism.

The controversy surrounding the team’s treatment has prompted Libyan fans to demand action from their Football Federation.

The Mediterranean Knights ultimately suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Super Eagles in Uyo on Friday.

However, the loss has been overshadowed by the fallout from the team’s treatment.

The two teams will face each other again in the reverse tie-on Tuesday in Benina.

Libyan fans and officials will be seeking a better outcome, both on and off the pitch, in their home stadium.
