Aston Villa has secured Jhon Duran’s long-term future, announcing a contract extension that ties the 20-year-old striker to Villa Park until 2030.

Duran’s impressive start to the season, including six goals, has earned him the new deal.

Notably, he scored the winning goal in Villa’s 1-0 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.

The Colombian forward joined Villa in January 2023 from Chicago Fire, scoring five Premier League goals in 23 appearances last season, mostly as a substitute.

Villa manager, Unai Emery praised Duran’s potential, calling it “huge.”

Emery acknowledged Duran’s occasional impatience but expressed confidence in his ability to develop and contribute.

Duran’s commitment comes after reportedly agreeing personal terms with West Ham during the summer transfer window.

Villa currently sits fifth in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Liverpool.
