Fubara Swears in 23 New LG Chairmen in Rivers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has sworn in the newly elected chairmen of the 23 local government areas.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Sunday at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.

A total of 22 chairmen from the Action Peoples Party, APP, and one from the Action Alliance were officially inaugurated into office.

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, declared the APP victorious in 22 local government areas, while the Action Alliance secured one chairmanship seat.

Governor Fubara congratulated the newly sworn-in chairmen on their electoral victories.

Notable dignitaries who attended the ceremony, include Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors’ Forum.

Each chairman, accompanied by a guest, is now expected to assume duties, focusing on fulfilling campaign promises and improving local community welfare.
