President Bola Tinubu has made it clear that his focus is not on the upcoming 2027 general elections, but rather on restructuring the economy to benefit the Nigerian people.

This statement comes despite prominent figures from the All Progressives Congress, APC, such as Chief Bisi Akande and Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dapo Abiodun, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Biodun Oyebanji, publicly supporting his re-election bid.

At the 2024 South West Assembly of the APC, hosted by Governor Sanwo-Olu, Tinubu emphasized his commitment to economic reform.

The event brought together party leaders and stakeholders from the South-West, including senators, representatives, and local government officials.

Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi praised Tinubu as a “listening leader” dedicated to success.

Tinubu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, urged Nigerians to be patient with his administration, promising genuine progress for the populace.

The meeting also tackled key issues related to the party’s development in the South-West Zone.

Notably, the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has criticized President Tinubu, suggesting he is more focused on re-election than addressing economic challenges.

However, Tinubu’s statement reiterates his commitment to economic restructuring and the well-being of Nigerians.
